Weight Loss Motivation

 

Weight loss motivation is important if you want to lose weight. Stay discipline with your fitness program, below are some tips to help you stay consistent with your goals.

Exercise is Too Boring

Going to the gym lifting weights or going on the treadmill can be an effective way to lose weight. But how many people stay motivated going through so much repetition? It’s the same old routine everyday. Some people can take it, some can’t. So how do you deal with this issue?

Desire it! Choose any activity that you enjoy, stop going through things that you don’t like. It will only be a torture instead of motivating you to lose weight. Follow your desires, don’t try and do something you hate to test your willpower. Motivation comes naturally when you do something you desire.

Put music into your routine Multitasking can be bad to a certain extent. But when you are running on the treadmill why not listen to music at the same time? If you are taking a jog in your park, try and get an i-pod or any music player as you jog.

Walk with your pets Do you have a pet dog? Good. Walk your dog.

Walk with Friends/ Family members Have some interaction when you take a walk, you will probably cover a longer distance walking while talking with someone. It’s just more enjoyable than walking alone

Who says you need to plan it all? You don’t have to plan a ‘special’ day for exercise. When you get a chance to use the stairs instead of the lift, use it.

Be very specific in your plan

Telling yourself to lose weight is simply not enough. Be more specific, when do you want to lose weight? How are you going to do it? How much weight do you want to lose? By just saying you want to lose weight will not bring you far. You have to be very specific. After doing this, visualize yourself by the end of your fitness plan, how will you look? This way you will see whether it is really doable in the first place.

Lack of weight loss motivation

Don’t let results bring you down. Sometimes you work so hard to lose weight but don’t see results, seek professional help if possible. Don’t sweat it, results don’t come instantly.

Be consistent

Since you won’t see results immediately, set out your long term plan, and be very specific. Follow through it, seek professional advice if you are planning to lose a lot of weight in a short time. Consistency is the key to weight loss!

Break it up for maximum efficiency

You can break your 40 minute workout session into 4 parts, 10 minutes each. You’ll get the same amount of exercise and it will not be too overwhelming.

Get a support group

Joining a weight loss program may be a good idea but make sure you really like the activity. If you don’t like that idea, try skiing or swimming with friends.

Have a variety

Try and be more active in various sports instead of just one. What I mean by this is to train different parts of your body in different activities. For instance swimming, sit-ups or cycling will work different muscles in your body. Put various activities that you like into your fitness plans.

Importance of rewards

Weight loss motivation comes when you have rewards at the end. Try non-food rewards, anything you want. Just make sure you achieve your goals first before even rewarding yourself.

It’s never over

After losing weight you will need to maintain it, don’t let all your hard work fade away. Set another plan in writing for this on how you are going to stay fit.

Keep Learning

Get fitness tips from your nearest fitness center. Or try getting books on how to lose weight, you just need some ideas to keep you motivated.

Methods like weight loss motivation through dieting can also give you some weight loss motivation. Motivation is important for consistent exercise. Results are never gained overnight.
