You might think I’m crazy for writing a description of a simple sit-up, but you’d be surprised how many people perform sit ups wrong. Another thing is that this isn’t just some simple exercise, but is rather a weighted variation of a normal sit up.

To perform a normal sit up you just use your abdominals to lift your upper body up toward your knees. However, with this exercise you hold a weight in between your chest and your arms, and then lift your upper body to perform a sit up.

Weighted Option For Extra Difficulty:

-Wear a weighted vest for extra abdominal tightening

-Hold a weight in between your arms and chest and perform a normal sit up

-Hold a weight in both hands, extend your arms above your head, and then lift your upper body while keeping your hands above your head with the weight still in hands

Directions:

1. Lie down on your back

2. Bend your knees and bring your feet toward your butt

3. For non-weighted, just lift your upper body up to your knees with only your abdominal strength

4. Try to maintain perfect form for the best results

5. For first weighted variation, hold a weight in between your arms and perform the sit up

6. For second variation, hold a weight above your head and perform a sit up while keeping the weight above your head
